What To Wear At An 80’s Themed Event?!

When we talk about fashion, there are only few good things that should be resurrected from the 80’s. Everything else is just plain ridiculous. For those who were born in that era, I’m pretty sure you would agree with me. How can you not forget the teased hair filled with ozone-depleting ‘Aqua Net’, big shoulder pads, denim jackets, mommy jeans (have you seen Katie Holmes sporting this look lately?) and rubber shoes, Spandex, aerobic dancer look, blinding neon stuffs one can find in her closet plus a whole lot more. And oh, don’t get me started with men’s fashion.

I have subjective judgment on what these 'few good things' should be revived. And when I say revive, doesn't have to be worn as it was in that era. With few tweaks, you can make these 80's pieces look hot and not dated.

On September 6, there is going to be a corporate function that will be held at SMX. To date, there are only ideas in my head but I haven’t actually tried looking around to realize all these. I don't want to be 'that' someone who brought back bad memories from this era. So I have come up with some looks that I might try.

Everything looks glamourous! Sigh... If only I were Eva Longoria who can have 10 outfit changes in just one event. Anyhow, the real challenge is to rock one of these ensembles and make sure it's in a budget. It doesn't have to be the real thing ;) I just need to sharpen my shopping skills to cop one of these four looks. I will posting my 80's outfit soon after the event.
